Glossary: Authorising Officer (AO)

A senior European Commission official (Director-General or Director in the relevant DG) responsible for the overall implementation of a pre-accession programme. His/her tasks include authorisation and overseeing of the implementation and reporting to the EU institutions. In case of decentralised management, AO grants conferral of management to the implementation structures in the beneficiary country.
Visoki dužnosnik Europske komisije (glavni direktor ili direktor u nadležnoj glavnoj upravi) odgovoran za cjelokupnu provedbu nekog pretpristupnog programa. Njegove dužnosti uključuju odobrenje provedbe i nadzor te izvještavanje institucija EU o njoj. U slučaju decentraliziranog upravljanja programom, DO prenosi ovlasti upravljanja na provedbene strukture u zemlji korisnici.
