PHARE air quality management project launched in Croatia
The PHARE 2006 twinning project "Establishment of Air Quality Monitoring and Management System", designed to help Croatia implement the EU acquis communautaire in the air quality sector, was officially inaugurated in the European Union's information centre in Zagreb on Friday.

Successful implementation of EU-funded project on New Computerised Transit System
A ceremony was held in Zagreb on Wednesday to mark the successful completion of the EUR 994,000 PHARE Twinning 2005 project "NCTS (New Computerised Transit System) Implementation" in the customs area. The purpose of the project was to fully adjust the Croatian customs IT system for transit control to the European Union's NCTS system and enable an exchange of data between the Croatian IT system and those of EU member states.

Results of PHARE project on strengthening capacity of market competition presented
The project funded by the EU "Strengthening of Capacity to Manage and Enforce the EU Competition and State Aid Policies" worth EUR 1.5 million has been successfully completed after 22 months of implementation. The achievements of the project have been presented on Wendsday in the Delegation of the EC to the Republic of Croatia by the Head of Operations Section Mr Paolo Berizzi, the president of the Croatian Competition Council Mrs Olgica Spevec, and the representatives of the competent German authorities.

EU-funded project launched to strengthen enforcement of intellectual property rights
The PHARE 2006 twinning project "Strengthening the Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights" was formally launched at the EU Info Centre in Zagreb on Thursday. The purpose of the EUR 1.27 million project is to strengthen the capacity of the central administration in combating counterfeiting and piracy in Croatia.
