“Strengthening capacities of the Ministry of Interior to combat cybercrime”

The objective of this project worth € 700 000 was to strengthen the capacities of the Ministry of Interior to effectively combat cybercrime at national and international levels, in line with EU policies and strategies.

The project is part of the Twinning initiative launched by the European Commission in 1998 with an aim to assist the candidate countries in strengthening their administrative capacities to implement the EU acquis.

In particular, the project enhanced the capacities of the Ministry of Interior and the Police Academy through the establishment of a long-term training programme and the introduction of new curricula. As a result, the beneficiary institution was provided with the know-how and recommendations on how to improve their system for fighting cybercrime, in line with recent policies and developments in EU Member States.
