The final ceremony of the „Technical Assistance to Transport Operational Structure in identification and assessment of projects“ Project,financed as part of the IPA 2007-2013 programme for the Republic of Croatia, took place  in Zagreb. The project, financed as part of the IPA 2007-2013 programme was launched on 23 February 2012, with duration of 15 months.

Establishment of centers for Implementation of IPPC at regional level in Croatia

The Ministry of Environment and Nature Protection and the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia held the closing ceremony of the project “Establishment of centers for Implementation of IPPC at regional level in Croatia” financed under EU IPA Programme for Croatia. The objective of this project worth € 1.120.000 EUR was to develop Croatia’s capacity for the implementation of the EU Directive 2008/1/EC “concerning integrated pollution prevention and control” (the IPPC Directive), which has been transposed into Croatian legislation. The primary target was to help industries, but also to help other stakeholders (e.g. regional and local self-government units, NGOs, Croatian Environment Agency, Ministry of Environment and Nature Protection) involved in the IPPC implementation and permitting process. The Ministry of Environment and Nature Protection is the Main Beneficiary.

THE GRAND OPENING OF THE MODULAR PRODUCTION FACILITY OF THE BUSINESS INCUBATOR BIOS

In the town of Osijek the grand opening of the new building of the Business Incubator BIOS were held. The construction of the new building has been funded through the project "Construction of Modular Production Facilities within Business Incubator BIOS”, which was awarded and financed through the IPA Component IIIC, Business related infrastructure Grant scheme – Regional Competitiveness Operational Programme. Total budget for the project is 1.391.050,62 EUR. The EU finances the project with 999.887,19 EUR of non-refundable funds, while the City of Osijek co-finances the project with 348.736,39 EUR. The objective of the project is to open 50 new companies and create 228 new job vacancies over the next ten years.

Ex-ante Evaluation of Programming Documents and Strengthening Evaluation Capacity for EU Funds Post-Accession

The Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds and the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia organised the closing ceremony of the project «Ex-ante Evaluation of Programming Documents and Strengthening Evaluation Capacity for EU Funds Post-Accession».The objective of this project worth € 469.830,00 was to contribute to the effective implementation and management of EU Cohesion Policy funds in Croatia. Specifically, researchers carried out evaluations of EU funded programming documents and undertook additional evaluation activities to improve the overall quality of programming documents. Secondly, the project aimed to strengthen the evaluation capacity of the key institutions involved in the management of EU Cohesion Policy in Croatia and put in place mechanisms for MRDEUF coordination of evaluation activities of the EU Cohesion Policy funding.

Closing ceremony of the Twinning project

The Ministry of Interior and the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia held the closing ceremony of the twinning project “Capacity Building in the Field of Fight against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse of Children and on Police assistance to Vulnerable Crime Victims” financed under EU IPA 2009 Programme for Croatia. The objective of this project worth €800,000 was to enhance the capacity of the Croatian law enforcement agencies and judicial system in the fight against sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of children and on providing assistance to the vulnerable crime victims.

Closing ceremony of the Twinning Project of the Road Safety Legislation

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia and the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia held the closing ceremony of the Twinning Project “Further Harmonization of the Road Safety Legislation, Strengthening and Development of the Administrative Capacity of the Ministries in the Field of Road Transport” financed under EU IPA 2008 Programme for Croatia. The objective of this project worth € 900.000 is to improve the road safety and strengthening the capacities of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure and its related structures in line with the social legislation of the EU relating to the road transport and in line with the regulation on recording equipment in road transport.

Development of Flood Hazard Maps and Flood Risk Maps

The Ministry of Agriculture and the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia held the opening ceremony of the twinning project “Development of Flood Hazard Maps and Flood Risk Maps” financed under EU IPA 2010 Programme for Croatia. The purpose of this project worth 1.100.000,00 EUR is to implement the requirements of the EU Floods Directive and, to that end, to prepare flood hazard maps and flood risk maps.

Strengthening Croatian administrative capacities for implementing the Services Directive

On Wednesday, 17th of April 2013, a formal opening ceremony marked the beginning of the Twinning project “Strengthening Croatian administrative capacities for implementing the Services Directive”. The objectives of this project are to strengthen the Croatian administrative capacities for effective and sustainable implementation of the Services Directive in (SD) order to develop and liberalise internal market services in Croatia. The project with a budget of € 222.222,00 is financed by the European Union and will last 6 months. The expected results of the project are focused on the practical implementation of the Services Directive and the strengthening of administrative and personnel capacities in the Ministry of Economy and other competent institutions. Furthermore, also the improvement of the Point of Single Contact’s website and the information of Croatian Service Providers about the directive’s consequences and deriving will add to the value of the project. Therefore, the project is of great importance for Croatia in the framework of the EU accession process and will add to the fully integration into the EU internal market.
