The Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia and the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia held the closing ceremony of the Twinning Project “Further Harmonization of the Road Safety Legislation, Strengthening and Development of the Administrative Capacity of the Ministries in the Field of Road Transport” financed under EU IPA 2008 Programme for Croatia. The objective of this project worth € 900.000 is to improve the road safety and strengthening the capacities of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure and its related structures in line with the social legislation of the EU relating to the road transport and in line with the regulation on recording equipment in road transport.
The Ministry of Agriculture and the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia held the opening ceremony of the twinning project “Development of Flood Hazard Maps and Flood Risk Maps” financed under EU IPA 2010 Programme for Croatia. The purpose of this project worth 1.100.000,00 EUR is to implement the requirements of the EU Floods Directive and, to that end, to prepare flood hazard maps and flood risk maps.
On Wednesday, 17th of April 2013, a formal opening ceremony marked the beginning of the Twinning project “Strengthening Croatian administrative capacities for implementing the Services Directive”. The objectives of this project are to strengthen the Croatian administrative capacities for effective and sustainable implementation of the Services Directive in (SD) order to develop and liberalise internal market services in Croatia. The project with a budget of € 222.222,00 is financed by the European Union and will last 6 months. The expected results of the project are focused on the practical implementation of the Services Directive and the strengthening of administrative and personnel capacities in the Ministry of Economy and other competent institutions. Furthermore, also the improvement of the Point of Single Contact’s website and the information of Croatian Service Providers about the directive’s consequences and deriving will add to the value of the project. Therefore, the project is of great importance for Croatia in the framework of the EU accession process and will add to the fully integration into the EU internal market.
Further enhancing of the functioning of Croatian AFCOS system with the aim of efficient protection of EU financial interests
Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia together with the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Croatia presented the new Twinning light project “Further enhancing of the functioning of Croatian AFCOS system with the aim of efficient protection of EU financial interests”, financed by the EU. The objective of this project, financed under European Union IPA 2009 Programme for Croatia, is to ensure the efficient and appropriate protection of EU financial interests in the Republic of Croatia within the process of preparation for EU Structural Instruments environment through supporting the improvement of competences and roles of the bodies in the AFCOS system.
The Ministry of Finance – Tax Administration and the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia held a closing ceremony of the twinning light project “Strengthening the administrative capacity of Croatian Tax Administration on mutual cooperation in the field of taxation” financed under EU IPA 2010 Programme for Croatia. The objective of the project was alignment of Croatian Tax Administration with EU legislative provisions, procedures and best practice in relation to the administrative cooperation in the field of taxation. The project, with a budget of 244.429.70EUR, was funded by the European Union. Implementation of the activities lasted for 6 months.
The new Call for Proposals related to development of business-related infrastructure in the areas of municipalities and towns is published. The total amount of 8 million EUR will be available for beneficiaries. This tender is open until 13th July 2013. Central Finance and Contracting Agency published the Business-Related Infrastructure Grant Scheme financed from IPA Component IIIC – Regional Competitiveness EU pre-accession programme.
Closing ceremony of the project “Preparation of the Han Agency Marketing Plan and Plan of Sustainable Economic Development of Vrana Settlement”
Biograd - closing ceremony marked the end of the IPA 2009 project “Preparation of the Han Agency Marketing Plan and Plan of Sustainable Economic Development of Vrana Settlement” with the total budget of € 250.000. The overall objective of this project, which started in May 2012 and end in March 2013, is the economic revitalisation and development of Vrana settlement. It was focused on identification of sustainable management for cultural monument Maškovića Han, and the improvement/strengthening of the tourism and agriculture sectors in Vrana. Therefore, the objective of the project has been to identify and propose solutions to use Maškovića Han as leverage to achieve a revitalisation and relaunch of the economy for the local tourism and agriculture enterprises of the whole Vrana area.
The Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Croatia and the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Croatia held an opening ceremony of the twinning project “Support to the alignment of the Croatian Integrated Border Management Concept with EU IBM Concept” financed under EU IPA 2010 Programme for Croatia. The purpose of of this project worth 90.183,60 € is further development of integrated border management (“IBM”) concept in the Republic of Croatia in line with the EU IBM Concept. It is part of overall objective, enhancement of overall capacities of border control authorities in fight against cross border crimes and illegal migration.
