Following the visit, there was the hand over of contracts and agreements related to infrastructure projects in transport and water supply in the ​​Varaždin County area, worth 83 million euros.

During his visit, Prime Minister Plenković pointed out how many resources are being invested in the northern part of Croatia.

“The last time we were here, we were in a position to tour a number of either completed or started projects worth just over 100 million euros. Today, just two months after that visit, we witnessed the signing or handing over of contracts worth 83 million euros,” Plenković emphasized.

The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Damir Habijan pointed out that the contract “Extension and reconstruction of waste water treatment plant Varaždin” was awaited for quite a long time and he expressed his satisfaction that the project is being implemented, which is of vital importance for the further development of the city of Varaždin.

The Mayor of Varaždin County Anđelko Stričak announced that in addition to the signed contract for the construction of the first part of the expressway from Varaždin, through Ivanec, Lepoglava, all the way to Krapina and the rotor in Gojanac, three more contracts with Croatian roads Ltd are being prepared. He pointed out that these are all huge investment cycles and added that Varaždin County has finally become one big construction site.
