The objective of the project, whose total value amounts to 222.222,00 EUR, was enhancing the capacities of the Republic of Croatia to efficiently combat organized crime and corruption as major threats to stability, security and democracy. The project purpose was to strengthen capacity of the Ministry of Interior by increasing effectiveness of the National Police Office for Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime (NPOSCOC) at the national and regional level through improvement of their internal administrative and operational procedures and implementation of trainings.
Closing ceremony will provide a comprehensive information about the structure and implementation of the project and present the achieved project results.
The results of this project are:
- Report with recommendations for improvement of legislative provisions on corruption and organized crime prepared;
- Internal administrative procedures improved; recommendations for developing the internal database technical capacities prepared;
- NPOSCOC’s capacities in relation to criminal investigations of corruption and organized crime strengthened.
On Friday, 14th of July, closing ceremony of the EU-funded Twinning Light project “Advanced Biostatistics in Routine Forensic DNA Casework (CRO STAT)” took place at the Ministry of Interior, General Police Directorate, Ilica 335, Zagreb. The project started with implementation in March 2017 and lasted 5 months. The main beneficiary was Forensic Science Centre (FSC) “Ivan Vučetić” of the Ministry of Interior. The budget for the implementation was 150.000 EUR.
On Wednesday, the 12th July 2017, the Governmental Office for Gender Equality of the Republic of Croatia and the National Institute for Health and Welfare of the Republic of Finland will organize the final event of the Twinning project „Support to Gender Equality" in the premises of the hotel Dubrovnik, ban Zrinski hall.
The objective of this Twinning project, worth 600,000 € (570,000 € EU funds, 30,000 € national funding) was to increase public awareness and trust in protection of citizens from gender-based discrimination in the Republic of Croatia and to enhance coordinated implementation, monitoring and evaluation of gender equality principles. Project has strengthened the institutional mechanisms for gender equality and efficiency of judiciary in the area of gender based discrimination.
