Presentation of results of the Twinning-light project

On Friday, November 25 2011, a closing ceremony and presentation of results of the Twinning-light project “Development of an Effective System for Fight against Counterfeiting of Banknotes and Coins in Croatia" were held. The project started on 6 April 2011 and it will end on 30 November 2011. The project was financed under the IPA 2008 program and implemented with the assistance of the Deutsche Bundesbank in cooperation with the Czech National Bank for the benefit of the Croatian National Bank.

The main objective of this project worth € 230.000 was to ensure more efficient functioning of the system for fight against internationally organized crime in its form of counterfeiting of banknotes and coins in Croatia.

The main project results achieved are:

• analysis of legislative framework carried out and recommendations for its improvement drafted
• analysis of the organization and efficiency of the system for fight against counterfeiting carried out and recommendations for its improvement drafted
• analysis of the training models carried out including recommendations for its improvement and education of experts conducted through workshops and study visits to the relevant institutions of project leader's countries and to the European Central Bank
• analysis of the architecture and data base of the Application System for Registration of Counterfeits (ASEK) carried out and recommendations for its alignment with Counterfeit Monitoring System (CMS) drafted.
