The purpose of this project, worth €1.2 million EUR, was to support the Croatian Ministry of Justice in the establishment of sustainable development of a National Probation service. The project was providing support for the Probation Service, which is now part of the Directorate for Criminal Law and Probation within the Ministry of Justice, in development of its central services and procedures for the delivery of probation services to courts, prisons and communities across Croatia. The overall objective of the project is to reduce the prison population and increase the efficiency of the criminal justice system by dealing with more offenders in the community, thus raising the level of humanity and the protection of human rights.
