The Police will establish the S. I. R. E. N. E Office

Due to the fact that the beneficiary of this project, which has a total value of EUR 130,000, Police Directorate, the Department for International Cooperation, in the framework of establishment of the S.I.R.E.N.E. Office, Vladimir Faber, General Police Director, expressed his satisfaction on status of implementation of this project and emphasized: \”The purpose of this project to draft a proposal for legislative and personnel activities of national Department, the assessment of training needs of future employees, as well as raising awareness of the role and significance of S.I.R.E.N.E Office\”.

Vincent Degert spoke highly of the project and emphasized the importance of S.I.R.E.N.E Office for Croatia for the involvement in Schengen and European Union framework: freedom of movement of persons, goods and funds transfer.

Moreover, the establishment of the S.I.R.E.N.E Office is one of the activities of the Republic of Croatia in connection with fulfillment of obligations stipulated in the acquis communautaire. The legal basis of the S.I.R.E.N.E Office operations originates in Schengen implementation agreements and with establishment of this Office is formed unique point of contact for police cooperation within European area for the purpose of better insight in databases for persons, items, vehicles on the EU level. In this way, the requests will be received from only one place and the coordination of activities with states from Schengen area in view of cross border monitoring, surveillance and cross border pursuit. The realization of  Phare 2006 twinning light project \”Preparation for the Establishment of the S. I. R. E. N.
