The one year implementation of the project "Kultur", financed within the scope of Phare 2006 programme, Interreg III A Slovenia-Croatia-Hungary Cross-Border Cooperation Programme, is finished. The purpose of this project was to increase availability of information about the Town of Čakovec, and enhancement of the number of visitors and tourists.
The purpose of the aforementioned project was achieved through installation of modern multimedia devices, which contain information on important town's cultural and historical buildings. This project will enrich and modernise tourist offer of the Town of Čakovec through the installation of an interpretational panels and signposts divided by the three thematic paths. Three Internet Info kiosks, for the purpose of providing Internet availability for tourists, were also installed. In this way, tourists can be informed about current cultural, entertainment and sports events. Four panoramic cameras and one 12 m2 high screen, for the purpose of town promotion by showing different picture and sound contents, were also installed.
Multilingual touristic brochure of the Town of Čakovec, as an interesting tourist destination, was issued within the scope of this project.
The total value of this project is 220 thousand euros, from which 75 percent, i.e. 165 thousand euros were awarded from Phare 2006 programme, whilst the rest of the total amount was co-financed by the Town of Čakovec, as the project's beneficiary.
