The boat, to cost slightly more than EUR 30,000, will be used to take tourists, hunters, fishermen, bird lovers and other groups on excursions to explore the flora and fauna of the Spacva river basin.
The boat, to be built by the end of March next year, is part of the project \”E.R.S.P.A.- Eco-river Spacva and the Po Region\”, which is being implemented by Nijemci municipality, Vukovar-Srijem County, county and municipal tourism offices, and Italian partner-municipalities from Ferrare province – Codigoro, Massa Fiscaglia, Migliaro, Migliarino, Formignana and Tresigallo.
The programme, worth EUR 200,000, is financed from the EU pre-accession fund PHARE 2006 – Adriatic Cross-border Cooperation with EUR 150,000, Klem said.
The purpose of the project is to improve river tourism services on the Spacva and Bosut rivers. Apart from the construction of the tourist boat and related infrastructure, the programme envisages courses for local tourist operators and tourist guides. (Hina)
