Successfully implemented EU Twinning project for effective management of EU Cohesion Policy Funds

Presentation of reached project results was held on Monday, November 11th, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in the Mimara museum, Rooseveltov trg 5, Zagreb. The participants were addressed by:  H.E. Branko Baričević, Head of the European Commission Representation in the Republic of Croatia, Mr Matija Derk, Assistant Minister, Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, Mr Aloyzas Vitkauskas, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania and Ms Nataša Mikuš Žigman, Director of the Central Financing and Contracting Agency.

The main goal of the project, worth € 2.000.000, was to increase capacity for overall coordination of the implementation of Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund (SCF) in Croatia, technically correct and effective financial management of funds and systematic and effective monitoring of SCF programmes. 1296 working days were spent on the project during the experts’ missions. The project team, including 52 short term experts, 2 long term experts from Lithuania and Hungary and the Croatian colleagues, worked together in Zagreb for the effective management of SCF.

This project was implemented by the the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Croatia in cooperation with partners from Lithuania and Hungary – the Ministry of Finance and the Central Project Management Agency of the Republic of Lithuania and the National Development Agency of the Republic of Hungary. Project implementation period was 27 months, from September, 2011 to November, 2013.
