After 13 months of the project implementation, with the total value of 160,000 euros, studies and reports of wine roads and hiking trails in Krapina-Zagorje county were prepared, on the basis of which the approvals were obtained and the afore stated wine roads and hiking trails of this county marked. In addition, brown tourist signboards were set up in the eastern part of Krapina-Zagorje County. In this way Krapina-Zagorje County obtained a network of wine cellars and hiking trails as characteristic symbols of this specific type of tourism within Krapina-Zagorje County.
During the project implementation, the emphasis was put on the harmonization with the EU priorities, state and county strategies, primarily the Croatian National Strategy for Regional Development, as well as the Regional Development Plan of Krapina-Zagorje County, while the objectives supported the improvement of the existing forms of tourism, development of the new selective tourist programmes and promotion of Zagorje as a tourist region.
Regardless of the fact that the project has finished, the activities of the constant supervision of wine cellars offer, forming an integral part of wine roads of Krapina-Zagorje County, will continue, as well as repairs and updates of previously set up tourist signboards and promotion of wine roads and hiking trails, which will finally certainly affect the tourist offer of Krapina-Zagorje County.
The project\’s final beneficiary is the Tourist Board of Krapina-Zagorje County in the cooperation with its partners Zagorje Development Agency, the County Roads Administration and Krapina-Zagorje County.
